Mikkeller Oakland Welcomes
Thursday, September 7th, 7:00 PM
Join us this Thursday at 7:00 PM as we welcome Kevin and Sara Osborn of Cellador Ales, who pride themselves on producing 100% oak barrel fermented ales. We will be featuring a flight of 4 delightful bottle pours for the evening. These very same bottles will also be available for purchase but will be in limited supply.
Here is the list of beers featured in our lineup.
Firegold Blend 6 w/ Star Ruby Grapefruit – Funky and Hoppy Farmhouse Ale aged on Star Ruby Grapefruits from Bernard Ranches near Riverside. Drinking this beer is literally like biting into a Grapefruit. It has a lasting lingering pithy bitterness, representative of the fruit itself. Very refreshing, and pairs great with a super bourgeois Sunday brunch. Conditioned with Orange Blossom honey from Bennett Family Farms.
Rəstik Blend 2 – Barrel aged hoppy farmhouse ale dry hopped with Motueka and Idaho 7. Moderately tart and bitter with big aromas of tropical fruit. Keg conditioned with orange blossom honey.
Saison Ad Absurdum – This is the second blend in our series of barrel aged “Saisons.” The first was called In Principio. Ad Absurdum is a blend of 3 unique barrels of combined to showcase some of the flavors in our barrel inventory. It’s mildly tart and oaky and funky. This beer really showcases the balance and complexity that I love in wild beers. We haven’t released this beer at all yet, so the shops in Northern California we send to right now will be the fist to get it.
Saison de Chuchotements – Pronounced shoo-shoo-mah, this is a simple Saison fermented with our house cultures and aged in Chardonnay barrels. easy drinking yet complex with the perfect amount of tartness to make it refreshing and very drinkable.
